Mbazulike Amaechi, a legislator from the First Republic, has visited the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Amaechi visited Kanu in the company of the co-chair of the Interreligious Dialogue Forum for Peace, Bishop Sunday Onuoha.
The visit of the former Minister of Aviation to the pro-Biafra agitator was revealed by Kanu’s brother, Kanunta Kanu through his Twitter account.
According to Kanunta, the visitors “had a significant interaction” with Kanu.
“Chief Mbazuruike Amechi and His Excellency Bishop Sunday Onuoha visited their son #MaziNnamdiKanu, the leader of IPOB, at the #DSS headquarters in Abuja today where they had a meaningful interaction,” wrote Kanunta Kanu.
Amaechi had recently brought some Igbo elders to the Presidential Village, where they met with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on behalf of the elders, Amaechi had urged the president to hand over Kanu to her.
In response, Buhari had promised to consider her request.
Kanu has been locked up since June, when he was detained again in Kenya and repatriated to Nigeria to continue his trial.
