Omo, Oladapo choose ADC tickets in Ikorodu

Sunday Oladapo and Ifemide Omo emerged on Thursday as consensus candidates for the House of Assembly of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in constituencies I and II of Ikorodu state for the 2023 general election.

Aisha Disu, chairperson of the ADC House of Assembly Primary Election Election Committee, said Messrs. Oladapo and Omo emerged unopposed as the party’s candidates.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the primaries were held at the MM International Hotel, Ikorodu.

Ms. Disu declared Mr. Oladapo the winner from Ikorodu I constituency and Mr. Omo from Ikorodu II constituency after holding a voice vote to affirm their nominations.

“Having emerged unopposed in the race with the affirmation of party members here, I, Ms. Aisha Disu, chairperson of the electoral committee, declare Oladapo and Omo winners of the primaries to be our party’s standard bearer in Ikorodu District I and II in the 2023 General Election,” he said.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Oladapo praised the party faithful for placing their trust in him, promised not to let the party down, and promised hands-on representation.

“I thank this great party for giving me the opportunity to serve as the flag bearer for the Lagos state assembly house elections for Ikorodu Constituency 1 in 2023 and I will not let this party down,” Oladapo said.

Furthermore, in his acceptance speech, Mr. Omo promised to work directly with the grassroots to facilitate a new development project that benefits them and improves security in various communities in the constituency.

NAN reports that Mr. Omo is an entrepreneur, while Mr. Oladapo is an information technology (IT) expert and farmer.

The primaries were monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and under the surveillance of local security agents.
