He Ondo State The governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has notified the state House of Assembly of his resumption of his functions after having been abroad for three months on medical leave.
Akeredolu returned from Germany on Thursday.
On Friday, receiving a letter from the Governor, House Speaker Olamide Oladiji said it was in line with Section 190(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
“According to the letter received today during the parliamentary meeting of the House, the governor resumed his functions today, Friday, September 8, 2023,” said a statement signed by Oladiji.
Oladiji, who expressed his thanks to God for bringing the Governor back home safely, said that all the people of the state were glad to see him back in office.
The governor, in a letter dated June 4, had informed the House of his situation on medical leave and had subsequently extended it on July 4.
“The Governor in his letter expressed his gratitude to the legislators for their good wishes,” the statement also says.

The governor arrived in the country on Thursday and met with members of his cabinet in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.
He has been treating an undisclosed illness in Germany after his health deteriorated shortly after the presidential election.
