
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Abdulganiyu Jaji as the new Comptroller General (CG) of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) starting April 22. The announcement is according to a statement signed by Aisha Rufai, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prison Service Board (CDIPB) on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that Mr. Jaji was the Deputy Controller General (DCG) in charge of Administration and Supply at the FFS prior to his appointment as CG.
He will replace Acting Comptroller General Samson Karebo, who took over leadership after former Comptroller General Ibrahim Liman retired from service.

According to the report, the newly appointed CG began his career at the Federal Ministry of Public Works and Housing as a Senior Technical Officer in 1991.
“He held various positions in the Ministry before his redeployment to the Federal Fire Service in 1999.
“He was born on August 13, 1965 in Alh’s family. Umar Olola Jaji in Ilorin, Kwara State.
“He has a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained in 1999 and is married with children,” the statement read.
