Ossai Ovie, Special Duties Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that having a child through surrogacy without a known father is abnormal.
This comes days after Ini Edo confirmed the birth of her daughter through surrogacy.
According to Ossai, many things are wrong in our society and should not be celebrated publicly.
Okowa’s assistant emphasized that no matter how rich you are as a mother, a child needs a father and must know where his father came from.
On his Facebook page, he wrote: “Surrogacy without a known father is abnormal.
“A lot of things go wrong in our society and we celebrate it in public but condemn it in private.
“I heard that she gave birth through a surrogate without a known father and people congratulate her and make it look like she did the best she could.
“I am not against surrogacy, but I am against surrogacy without a known parent.
“We must also be careful when we are in surrogacy.”
He added that making such information known to the general public will end up damaging the child’s reputation, as there was no reason why the public should know such a thing.
